My wife Julie & I are currently building a replica of the car from the hit TV show "Supernatural" In this process we have been out chasing parts that will make our car more screen correct than what it currently is. Our journey brought us to a place just across the river to Vancouver Wa. to a place called All American Classics. Wow! what an amazing place. It is 20 acres of nothing but classic cars from the 1930s through the 1980s, over 3000 to be exact.
Before we began our journey they gave us a map showing where each section of make of vehicle is located, it's actually well organized for such a huge outdoor yard. As Julie and I were walking through the sad graveyard of classics, we could only imagine the many, many stories that go with all of these cars that have been wrecked and no longer wanted by their owners. I think it is so great that there is a place like this that doesn't just send the cars to a crusher until they have been totally picked over. To be able to get every usable piece off of these once great cars before they are crushed, is a great way to be able to preserve a piece of Americana. It's cool to me to think that by incorporating those pieces of the wrecked cars into your current build is a great way for that once proud, beautifully American made vehicle, to live on through your current build.
The people working there were very friendly in helping us with our questions & concerns. We also found what we went in for. I recommend if you need any old car parts, check this place out. If you are in the area and just want to see an amazing place and feel like taking a walk, then go in, grab a map of the place and take a stroll through their yard. Next time I go I'm bringing my camera.
